I met Valerie May 25, 1984...35 and a half wonderful years together!!

I Join A New Dance Group: Charisma!

I was still in the Kings of Hearts but Louie S. was putting together a new group and I joined...Dave did too!  More work --more $$$!
A couple or three other guys were also in it...
Louie had big plans!  For one thing he was going to have pyrotechnics!...
We were going to dance at a place on Cicero right near Midway Airport.
Louie had a guy come in and set up all kinds of lights and sparks and stuff and a fog machine.
The show went OK but not all the special effects worked right and the fog was sort of thick and unpleasant to breathe!
But we worked at other clubs too.................................................................Charisma dancers at FACES!!
We did a show at Faces (940 N. Rush St)
The show went well.  I couldn't believe we danced at this legendary disco.  So many celebrities had been there.
We got membership cards too.  I continued my membership a few years and dropped in once in a while.

I went there one time and asked a girl to dance.  We danced a couple of songs and I asked about her and she said she worked on one of the TV stations in Chicago.  Her name was Theresa Gutierrez and she hosted a show.  I ended up asking for her number and went to meet her where she worked at State and Lake.  (She was the second lady I met from channel 7 in a year or two....)
We had lunch at an outdoor cafe on State St. and I talked about Valerie, my girlfriend, trying to get her on Theresa's TV show......

........Well, Valerie never was on Theresa's show on channel 7 but next year she had her own TV show on WBE Channel 13..."The Valerie Craft Show"! ...................*(to be continued on Post #72)*........

I was glad to go to my job...best job I ever had!  I never dreamed I could make a living dancing!!

Working out at Charlie Club, 1980

Before I went to work I would try to get to the health club and work out or swim and shower and steam and sauna.  Or I would do a fast three or four mile bike ride in the woods near where I lived.
I belonged to a couple of clubs...one near the house and another near the Rose...Charlie Club.  I would go there often after work even if it got late and I had been hanging out for an hour or two... sometimes even one or two in the morning.
